Ben Mitchell

Founder and Past-President of the Reunion.

Ben is a retired Marine, and Khe-Sanh survivor.  The recipient of 3 purple hearts, Ben is now retired.  He and his wife, Elise, are instrumental in hosting the Reunion each year.

 

Dave Burditt

Out-going President of the Reunion.

Dave began his involvement with the Reunion as the liaison/representative from the Inter-Tribal Warriors Society.

Dave served with the US Army’s “Big Red One” (1st Infantry Division).  He works in Airfield Maintenance with the Wichita Airport system.

 

 Rick Baker

Out-going Vice President.

Rick has served the reunion for many years, as Sergeant-at-Arms, Vendor Chairman, Entertainment Chairman, auctioneer, and Vice President.  His duties include publicity and advertising.  He served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk (CVA-63).  Rick worked as a firefighter/rescueman and in law enforcement until his retirement in 1999.

 

Randy Spence –

Sergeant-at-Arms.

Our Sergeant-at-Arms is in charge of many of the physical operations for the Reunion, from first day of set-up to the last day of tearing down.  He helps in a lot of other ways including finish carpenter work necessary for the Reunion.

He makes sure we have the bleachers, stage, and toilets which make your visit more enjoyable.  While the Reunion is up & running, and working in concert with the Butler County Sheriffs Department, he also takes care of On-Site Security and crowd control.  Randy is also one of our best salesmen.

  

Nancy Hildreth Walker (aka Mrs. Doc) –

                                                                          

Secretary.

Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (& part-time chicken rancher) is our Reunion Secretary and Emergency Counselor and is available on-site for anyone who needs her services.  Nancy served in the Army during the Viet Nam era.  As Secretary She keeps the communications flowing on the “Official Business” of the Reunion.  Nancy’s hard work is instrumental in keeping the records for the Reunion.

 

Elise Mitchell –

Treasurer.

Elise has served the Reunion in various ‘Un-Official’ capacities since it began, and is now our treasurer.

Her background in the banking industry serves the reunion well.  Elise’s Husband, Ben, served with and retired from the USMC.

 

Michael “Doc” Walker –

Chief Medic.

 “Doc” has been with the reunion since its “one-one day.”  Doc retired from the US Navy and more recently, from the U.S. Post Office.

 

Jim Pullen

   

Chaplain & Assistant Medic.

Jim served 2/327th Inf, 101st Airborne Div, as a Combat Medic 1969-1970.  He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart & Combat Medical Badge.  After the Army, he worked as an Orderly, Respiratory Therapy Tech, LPN and retired as an RN.  He is a great addition to our medical staff and is the Reunion Chaplain.

 

David Evans

                                                        

Vendor Chairman.

David has been with us since day "1", along with his lovely wife Karen.  He takes care of booking and placement of the many great vendors who come to the reunion.  David was at Phan-Rang Viet Nam 1970-71 & served as an Aircraft Mechanic working on the AC119 G "Shadow" Gunships.

 

 

Tom Allen –

Entertainment Chairman.

Tom works hard recruiting the bands that perform at the Reunion.  It’s a terrible job, going from bar to bar, week in & week out, listening to live music!  Tom gives his all for the Reunion!  Tom served in the 1st Battalion Recon with the USMC.

 

Henry McVay

Youth Director.

Captain Henry (shown here with “Henry’s Kid” Molly Espinosa) keeps “the young ones” happy and busy by operating “The Kids’ Tent” (Known on this Site as “Camp Ali”).  Henry served with the 5th Infantry Division 1968-1969 and currently “goes Postal” every morning to feed his family.  Henry’s dedication and perseverance (getting donations of money and materials) make the Kids Tent a huge success.

  

Jim Daily

Jim is one of the people you seldom see at the Reunion.  The reason being is Jim heads up our Fireworks Crew.

It is Jim’s self-assigned mission to insure you have one of the best Fireworks demonstrations in the State to finish up the Friday and Saturday night’s entertainment.  Jim served with the USAF and currently works in the aircraft industry in Wichita, KS.

 

Kevin Pickrell

                                                                            

Incoming Vice President.

Kevin is a Sergeant in the Army Guard & 35th Infantry Band and has been a big help for our Reunion for a few years.  He is in charge of the “MTK” under the supervision of SSG Evans, MICT NCOIC, & makes sure our staff has enough good food to keep us going through the entire reunion.  He is also our Reveille and “Taps” player, is with the Color Guard and is in the El Dorado Municipal Band who performs at our opening ceremonies.  Kevin also helps out in many other capacities and is a great asset to our organization.

 

Sam Langhofer

                                                                

Sam is Veteran’s Group Liaison for the Reunion.  He is retired from the Army & served with the 1st Aviation Brigade, 56th Transportation Co, ADS in Vietnam who supported the 9th Infantry Division at Bear Cat.  Sam is the past Commander of VFW Post 1174 in El Dorado and is currently the 5th Dist. Commander.  He is Chief Estimator for Cornejo & Sons Construction in Wichita.

 

Connie Langhofer

                                                                  

Connie assists Sam with his duties such as the Reunion program and assists the Reunion staff as well, assisting with other duties of the staff.  She is retired & is married to Sam.

 

The staff and several of the great ‘Support Units” !

                                                 

We would like to highlight some of the Support Units, without whose help the Reunion would not run as smoothly as it does.  These are a few of those very necessary individuals:

 

Lynn Spence –

                                                                   

The Reunion’s liaison for logo materials with Randy Wells and assists him in getting them ready, and anything else the Reunion asks of her.

 

Lori Wischropp –

In charge of obtaining advertising for our program booklet, and assists with other needs.  We're always looking for new advertisement - thanks to all who have advertised with our Reunion.

 

 

Staci Pickrell –

Has proven to be very helpful in flyer distribution, sales and procurement.  She makes sure Kevin doesn't poison any of our staff

 

John Archanbeau

In charge of organizing and staffing for Gate Security.

 

Rich McDoniel

Website Manager.

He is a Staff Sergeant currently serving in the US Army Reserves with the 723rd Engineer Detachment (Fire Fighting Team), El Dorado, KS.  He has served with the 323rd Engineer Detachment (Fire Fighting) in both Operation Joint Endeavor, Bosnia 1996 – 1997 and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Al Asad, Iraq 2003 – 2004. 

 

Lance & Angie McCune –

Lance is the incoming President of the Reunion.

Lance McCune is a Sergeant First Class and has served 19.5 years in both the Active and Reserve components of the Army.  He has served overseas in Honduras, Cuba, Iraq and Panama.  He first became associated with the Reunion in 2005 and became a member of the staff shortly after the 2006 Reunion.  He is being groomed to take on the leadership challenges for the 2008 and future Reunions.

 

Angie has tolerated Lance through almost 16 years of marriage.  She is a true military spouse; independent, hard working and supportive.  Angie supports the reunion by getting out there and selling advertisement space and pitches in to help wherever the Reunion needs her.
